I'll Take Your Word For It

April 11th post update:  We are back today with Part II of our "I'll Take Your Word For It" challenge here at Frilly and Funkie. Since it is Week 2, it's time for the Funkie design team to post their take on the challenge.  We have a terrific line up and I hope you will take time to stop by the designer's personal blogs and leave them some love.

Whatever your vintage style - frilly, funkie or somewhere in between, feel free to link up your project any time during the two weeks the challenge runs.  This challenge theme runs through Tuesday, April 17th.  We will have two winners - one random pick will receive a $15 gift certificate to the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  And one favorite pick of the design team will receive a winner's badge to display on their blog.

April 4th:  Greetings vintage lovers.  Thanks for dropping by.  We have a new two-week challenge for you today, but before we get started, the Frillies and Funkies want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the warm reception we have received from the papercraft/mixed media community.  We had a sensational first week with lots of interest, encouragement and good wishes.  Many thanks to everyone who took the time to stop by, to leave us greetings and to stop by our blogs and leave us some love!  Special thanks to those of you who played in our first challenge.  Be sure to check back next Monday to see who the winners are.

Today marks the start of our first two-week split challenge.  Our normal format will be a challenge that runs two weeks.  The first week, our Frilly design team members will present you with their take on our challenge theme.  The second week, our Funkie design team members will show you how they were inspired by the challenge theme.  You are sure to see all kinds of wonderful vintage samples that we hope will inspire you to play along.

This bi-weekly challenge theme is I'll Take Your Word For It.  Words can be kind, comforting, encouraging, supporting. They can lift people up when they are down, they can give positive reinforcement or a giggle when we need it most.  I especially love motivational quotes.  For this challenge, let your sentiment take center stage and be the focal point of your project.

Frilly or Funkie, you can play along any time in the next two weeks.  We will have two winners - one random pick will receive a $15 gift certificate to the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  And one favorite pick of the design team will receive a winner's badge to display on their blog.  We can't wait to see your take on the challenge.

  3. I absolutely love the Challenge Theme Linda - Very cool! I love the DT pieces too - fabulous lacy embellishments - frothy gorgeousness

One question though... Do we have to choose whether to enter in week one OR week 2 two?

I'm loving this so much I would like to be a Frilly AND and a Funkie. Anna xx

  7. I am so pleased the first week was well supported, now on to the next Challenge..... I am loving the Dt;s inspiration. One wonders if the entries so far are reading the requirements, as I feel the sentiment is not centre stage as you want it!
My understanding is that the words should be seen first before any embellishments, or do you just want words on the card?
    Smiles:)
